Since her marriage to Jimmy Mazzy in 1985, Carrie Mazzy has been delighting audiences accompanied by Jimmy's banjo and singing. Her simple, straightforward and heartfelt vocals complement his "gutsy" singing style and recall the singers of the era between the World Wars. Her choice of material ranges from the standard ballads and jump tunes made famous by singers like Billie Holiday to little-known tunes recorded in the 20s by singers like Jane Green, Annette Henshaw, and the young Ethel Waters. Jim and Carrie's duets bring a touch of romance currently lacking in modern entertainment.

They have appeared from coast to coast at Festivals as a duo, with Jimmy and His Friends, and with several West Coast bands. Their unique presentation has been enjoyed at local venues such as: The Chestnut Hill Mall, the Essex Connecticut Hot Steamed Jazz Festival, and the Great Connecticut Jazz Festival (now held in Guilford). At home among larger audiences, the Mazzys also bring a personal, friendly touch to weddings, anniversaries, and birthday parties.

Locally, they have appeared together at The Colonial Inn in Concord, MA on Wednesday nights for 15 years, and at Angelica's in Middleton (moved from The Commodore) for many years. (As of February, 2004, Angelica's has been discontinued...Carrie will announce a replacement location as soon as it is confirmed.)
