1.3 John D. Adney
|
| Birth |
26 Jan 1803, Virginia |
| Death |
18 Mar 1871, Lebanon, IN |
"Went with his father from Preble Co, Ohio to Union Co., Ind. In 1843 removed to Thornton, Boone Co., Ind., thence to Lafayette, Ind., where he owned and operated a flouring-mill. This having been destroyed by fire, he returned to Boone Co. and in the early 'Sixties bought another mill, at Lebanon, where in 1921 an extensive business was being carried on by his descendants under the name of the Globe Flour Mills." ETA
Note: Since John D. Adney is the great-grandfather of Frank B. Adney, Jr., husband of Mary Alice Claycombe Adney, there is a great deal of detailed information about him and his descendants in "Adney Family Story." I expect to present this practically intact in the narrative of the total genealogy when it achieves book form. - JWW
